On Thursday, a Parker County Sheriff’s Deputy’s found over $7.5 million dollars worth of marijuana at a truck stop. One of the deputies made a microscopic discovery when he noticed a parked tractor-trailer had an incomplete weld.
The deputy decided to investigate the weld with a K-9 unit. The K-9 alerted officers to the smell of marijuana, which led them to the big find: 2,500 pounds packed inside tubes in a giant industrial rock-raker, a highway construction tool manufactured in Mexico. Fire fighters cut through the metal container, that when they found the enormous discovery.
Investigators believe that the driver picked up the load in El Paso and had no idea that he was carrying the drugs. This was the biggest bust ever in Parker County.
